Proceeds from Lotta Love Jewelry go to support the building of the Gather Our Children Home Emergency Safe Shelter for children, providing a safe place for children of the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. The people on Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota are the poorest in America. These forgotten people live in conditions that are only seen in third world countries, yet they are in America, they are Americans, they are the First People of America, and they need our help. The Gathering Thunder Foundation, along with Tribal representatives and elders, recognize the great need and urgency for protecting children on the reservation. Outside of volunteer families who are often overcrowded, there has never been a safe place for newborns and young children to go when they have been removed from a home where violence, addiction or neglect prevails. Most times, because of the desperate conditions, infants and toddlers are removed with little to no clothing on. The Gather Our Children Home will provide a safe place for these children to stay in loving arms and not only survive, but to thrive.
