What's Your Dharma?

Dharma means purpose. We all have our own purposes in life, lessons we are to learn, areas of interest that we are

naturally gifted and the specific areas of humanity that need our help.

Each individual has their own special blend of purpose. No one person can help everyone. No one person can be or do everything.

Each person has their own special talents and their own area of expertise. It is my belief that if everyone is doing exactly what their

joy was in life it would solve most of the world's issues.

This page offers thought provoking questions and a guided meditation that can help you to find your own joyful purpose in life!

For when you are in a better space, the world is a better place!

The Question:

Sit calm for a moment, and seriously think about this question.

What would you be doing right now if you had all the money in the world, all the time in the world and no responsibilities or obligations?

Where would you be and what would you be doing, right now?

The Focus:

Sit for a minute and think of all the things that makes your heart sing!

Write down on paper all the things you like to do, even if you have never done them! Name a hundred things if you can think of them, don't worry about doing the same ones. If you write it twice, that's how much you like it!

Now take that list and circle with different colors or shapes the ones that are alike. Just like in kindergarten!

Red circles can be for animal things, or squares for things that have to do with cars or flying or art or music or helping kids or organizing or science or math or whatever it is you see on your list!

What areas do you come up with?

Narrow it down to three areas. These are the three things that are most important to you in your life.

From now on, only put time and effort into those three areas! To everything else say "No". If someone asks, say "It's not on my list!" If they persist, ask them what's on their list!

Breathe in deep and when you do, feel your body begin to relax, all your cares and worries of today slip away. You are at peace. You are calm. You are at one. All is well.

You see before you a brilliant shining light. What shape is it? What color is it? What does it look like? Look at this shining light. Feel its gentle strength call to you. Feel all the fears, worries, hopes, desires, issues of this life fall away from you and fly into this light. The shining light is here to neutralize all that has held you back, all that holds your true self, your true nature tight within you. The light purifies, cleanses, brings all to brilliance. What does it look like as you release into the light? What does it feel like? Look. Listen. Feel.

Release all your worries into the light. Give all your fears to the light. Give all your commitments to the light. Give all your loved ones to the calm and safety of the light. Letting go of all your guilt, shame, undesired belief system, let go and relax. Let go and breathe. Let go into the light and know all is well. All is well. All is well.

You breathe deep again and see the light fade away and before you is the land of your dreams. What does this land look like? What does it smell like? What does it feel like? See it. Feel it. Be it. Know it to be true. All is well.

You see yourself there, in this dream land. What is it you are doing, in this exact moment? What is it that fills your heart with joy? Who are you with? Are you alone? Are there people, animals with you? What are they doing? Look. Observe. Send love and watch.

Now see a day in the life of this dream land. What does your day look like? What does it feel like? If you can, become one with your dream self. Get up, eat breakfast, walk around your dream home. Feel what it is your dream self feels. Be where it is your dream self goes. What does your dream self spend the day thinking about? What are your habits, your daily routines? Who are you surrounded by? Who is not there around you? What is it you are doing as you go about the day in your dream land? Look around. Feel it. Be it. Smell it and know it to be true. All is well. All is well. All is well.

Find a quiet space and sit with this dream self awhile. If there was one thing this dream self would tell you right now, right here, what would it be? Ask and listen. Ask and look. Ask and receive. Be. All is well.

As you turn to leave this dreamland, send it a giant hug full of thanks!! This dreamland is your best and highest self and within it lies the power to create all things possible. Send it thanks and love and laughter and joy! Feel the love in return your dream self, your dreamland has for you! Feel it. Receive it. Know it to be true. All is well. All is well.

Find yourself back to the now, to this moment in time. Know that this dream self is there with you each step of the way as you walk the journey toward your dream land. Know that at ANY time you can call on this dream self for direction. What would your dream self do? A question to be asked during moments of stress. Know that this is the dreamland that is right for you at this moment, and that as you change, so too can this dream self.

We end with the thought: "This or something better, this or something greater, something more than I could ever hope to dream! I allow this into my life. I allow joy into my life. I allow peace and calm and love and light into my life! And as I walk, I shall stop, listen and look all ways before crossing the roads in my life. I shall look to my dream self to guide me, to be beside me, within me and in front of me guiding the way."

Breathe deep and find yourself back in this room. Listen to the sound of my voice and the sounds of this room. And when you are ready, open your eyes and record your experience.

The Daily Work

Use these ideas to create the dream life you dream! Remember to make note of the little miracles on the way. Progress is perfection!

Take the image, messages and/or feelings that you received from all these tools listed above and put them together in a visual form as a daily reminder of your purpose and dream goals.

Do a collage by cutting out pictures and words from magazines. Do a journal by writing about how you feel about it often. Do a picture board by taking pictures that make you feel the dream purpose and post it where you can see it each day.

Every time you see your visual reminder, send a big giant THANK YOU! to your dream self from bringing these messages home to you.

And as you go along your journey, remember, some of the things that appear to be the worst things ever to happen to us, end up being the best things for us.

Let go and know that all is well. All is well.
